Swedish Massage

Relax – Rebalance – Reconnect with Swedish Massage.
(also known as Classical – Relaxation Massage)

For centuries, massage has been used to soothe the body and release tension,  which keeps body and mind in a healthy state. The earliest evidence of massage in aiding physical health was discovered in ancient Greece by Hippocrates – the father of medicine – who believed that massage or rubbing the body could help in healing problems of the joints. There is also historical evidence in ancient Egypt, China and Japan of illustrations showing that the eastern world was making their own discoveries on the benefits of massage.
Massage, as we know it today in the West, was developed at the beginning of the 19th century by a Swede called Per Henrik Ling. He developed this style through his knowledge of gymnastics and anatomy, and he combined them with the techniques from the ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians and the Chinese.  He came up with a style of massage known as Swedish Massage.
Swedish Massage is the most well-known and widely requested massage therapy – and for good reason. It offers a deeply relaxing experience, using gentle to medium pressure with long, flowing strokes to ease tension, boost circulation and calm the nervous system.

Key Benefits of  Swedish massage:

The extent of nudity is up to you, but you will be covered with clean towels at all times, and only the area that is being massaged will be exposed to the therapist. You will be given complete privacy before and after the treatment.

Natural plant-based oils will be used during massage and perhaps it is a good idea not to wear your Sunday best when coming for a massage, as your body will still have traces of oil after the session.  Also, please make sure you tell the therapist in advance if you are allergic to any oils and creams.
Inform the therapist beforehand if you have any serious ailments or undergoing medical treatment, or if you think you could be pregnant or aiming to be. In rare cases, the therapist may need your doctor’s agreement for massage to be carried out.
