Frequently Asked Questions
Can I combine massage styles in one session?
Absolutely. Many clients benefit from a tailored blend — for example, a relaxing Swedish-style start followed by deeper work on specific areas or vice versa. Your treatment is always adjusted to your needs on the day.
Blending massage styles may affect pricing slightly, depending on the focus and time required.

What if I’m not sure where my tension is coming from?
That’s okay — that’s what I’m here for. Through a brief consultation before your session, I can assess posture, tension patterns, or lifestyle factors and recommend the most suitable approach.

Does deep pressure always mean a better massage?
Not necessarily. Deeper isn’t always better — it’s about what your body needs. Swedish massage, for example, uses lighter pressure but can still be deeply therapeutic for your nervous system and muscles.

I’m not an athlete — is Sports Massage (or even Deep Tissue Massage) right for me?
Yes! You don’t have to be a professional athlete to benefit. Sports Massage is ideal for anyone who leads an active lifestyle or has a physically demanding job or hobby.

How often should I get a massage?
It depends on your goals. Some clients come weekly during recovery or training phases; others book monthly for maintenance. I’m happy to recommend a schedule based on your needs.

Here are some further FAQ’s relating to Massage.
Is massage safe during pregnancy?
While I don’t offer dedicated pregnancy massage, please note that massage during your first trimester is not generally recommended. Always check with your doctor or obstetrician who should be able to give you the right guidance.
What should I wear to my appointment?

Full body massage – whichever modality you choose – is conducted without clothes on, although you will be properly draped with fresh towels to safeguard your privacy. If you do not wish to take off your clothes, then the gluteal muscles (buttocks), which are vital for any of the three massage styles, will be omitted or treated over the towel. If you have sciatica-style pain or suffering from piriformis syndrome, it is important that the therapist has direct access to those muscles. Always talk to your therapist before your massage treatment.
Will it hurt the next day?
I would prefer to use the word ‘’sore’’. Many use the phrase ‘good pain’ rather than an excruciating one. Think of it like having done gardening all day Saturday, and on Sunday you would feel sore in and around the muscles and the joints which have not been used for a while. Despite some soreness, you’ll likely notice an improved range of motion in the days following Deep Tissue or Sports Massage.
